Information for Patients
Our Service Objective
Painful disorders of the foot can affect both work and leisure. This can interfere with mobility and affect your quality of life.
Our key objective is to provide the highest surgical skill level and expertise. We embrace established and proven surgical
techniques together with emerging innovations and techniques in podiatric surgical and conservative care to offer you the best
available treatments at all times.
Consultation Appointment
At your first appointment the Consultant may take your history, examine you, and arrange any tests (e.g. x-ray films). He will
advise you about the most appropriate treatment. If surgery is necessary the Consultant will discuss the surgery with you and
arrange pre-surgical tests. If all is well we can arrange a suitable date for your operation.
Who Performs the Surgery?
The Consultant in Podiatric Surgery performs operations. Mr. Fellner specializes exclusively in foot surgery.
Mr. Fellner will provide you with the most appropriate advice and treatment to relieve your foot pain. Easier shoe fitting,
better posture, and improved comfort at work and leisure is a priority. Of course, your concerns about the cosmetic appearance of
your foot are also important to us.
If you have any specific needs or requirements please let us know.
Pain Free Foot Surgery
Using advanced local anaesthetic techniques your surgery can be performed without pain. Because it is no longer necessary to put
you to sleep for the surgery you can be back home soon after your operation.
The Operating Room
All of our operations are performed at the local hospital. It is the safest place for your operation. We understand your worries
about an operation and will take extra care to ensure your comfort at all times.
Health Insurance
If you have private insurance it is often possible to claim for consultations and / or treatment. You are strongly
advised to check with your own health insurance provider, since the extent of health cover is variable.
We politely advise patients that it is normal practice to request payment ahead of treatment, with or without health insurance.
In the event of a claim we will be happy to assist you.
Podiatric Surgery
This is a list of some of the more common foot operations which are performed routinely. There are many other foot
operations and if your problem does not appear on the list please ask for information. Also please note each section presents an
overview only and more detailed information is provided after an examination.
